Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Dungey is 5th in 250 class at Thunder Valley

6/29/2009

Round 5 – AMA Motocross Series

Lakewood, Colorado

Thunder Valley MX Park

June 27, 2009

In the 250 class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey finished up the night with identical

results to his 450 class teammate Byrne. In the first moto, Dungey overcame a bad start to go from

21st to sixth place on his Rockstar Makita Suzuki RM-Z250. In the second moto, the Minnesotan

fared better on the start and brought home a fourth-place finish. Dungey is currently second overall

in the championship points standings.

Ryan Dungey:

“It was a tough race and the altitude definitely played a part, but everybody had to deal with it – no

excuses. Where I really threw it away was on the starts. I just couldn’t get off the line like I wanted to

and that set me back. But overall, I came out of this race healthy and I finished both motos, even

though I’ve struggled here in the past. Now I’m just looking toward Red Bud.”

Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Racing will race next at Red Bud Track ‘N’ Trail in Buchanan,

Michigan, on Saturday, July 4, 2009.

Dungey Second at Mt. Morris

6/16/2009

In the 250 class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey captured second place overall after carding third and second-placed moto finishes. In the first moto, Dungey overcame two get-offs to rally and secure third. In the second 30-minute moto, the Minnesotan simply put his head down and rode a smooth, consistent race to finish second.

Ryan Dungey:

"To be honest, it's not the track that got the best of me in the first moto. I made a mistake and went down but my Rockstar Makita Suzuki RM-Z250 was running great, so I was able to come from behind and work my way up to third. In the second moto, I was there right at the end. The track was tough and I had a lot of fun. It made the racing close and a good show for the fans. Second place is not too bad but now we need to go home and do our homework before the next race."

Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Dungey wins the 250 class at Freestone County Raceway in Wortham, Texas

6/7/2009

Round 3 – AMA Motocross Series

Wortham, Texas

Freestone County Raceway

June 6, 2009

In the 250 class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey captured another overall victory, thanks to second- and first-place moto finishes, Dungey rode two impressive motos and continues to lead the overall championship points standings. This win is Dungey’s second victory of the 2009 season.

Ryan Dungey:

“It’s for weekend’s like this that we train our butts off during the week, so we can go all-out for two 30-minute motos. The humidity has made the racing tough here, but the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team made the RM-Z250 work great out there. I definitely had my work cut out for me in the first moto, coming from about 10th to second place. Then, in the second moto, the competition was deep so I’m glad I was feeling sharp and feeling good… I’m just super-pumped on the racing this year and I’ve got to give it up for Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki. It’s a fun journey.”
